My Approach

Navigating today’s complex and ever-changing world isn’t easy, no matter if you’re a young adult or a more seasoned adult. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, sad or frustrated, you are not alone. There is a reason why the phrase “I’m done adulting for today” has gained such popularity—because adulting is hard. And truth be told, even us more seasoned adults struggle with adulting from time to time.

I am a believer that people should be seen and heard! I also believe that people are far more resilient than what we give them credit for. I particularly enjoy working with those who are truly ready for change.

I use a unique and effective form of psychodynamic therapy to treat trauma, anxiety, depression and other difficulties. This involves techniques that differ from traditional therapy. With this said, I also value other evidenced based practices such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy.

In sessions, we work collaboratively. I create a space that is free of judgement, where human experiences and emotions can be shared in an uncensored way. I do not use a cookie cutter approach and always tailor the process based on your needs.

Comments from Clients

"I started therapy earlier this year. I tried out a few different therapists, but it just wasn't for me. Then I found [Anita] through the Althea Therapy app and it's been amazing! I've been recommending my therapist to everyone.
